Y-Not Australian Shepherd is a registered kennel name with the Australian Shepherd Club
of America. We are a family operation with two locations.
Y-Not South is located in Los Lunas, NM, approx. 25 miles south of Albuquerque. The
kennel is owned and operated by Earl and Helen Thompson. Y-Not North is located in the
Fox Valley of Wisconsin. This location is currently a non-breeding kennel. It is operated by
our daughter Gayle Kukulka and her daughter Meagan. All of our Aussies are registered in
Both ASCA and AKC registries. They are OFA rated, eyes CERF’s and DNA’d.

We have found this breed to be intelligent, loving and loyal. All of our Aussies have been
raised as our companions and are well socialized.   Our dogs are primarily house dogs.
They can be found following us around our homes as we go about our daily lives. We
allow all of them in the house together in the evenings. When we sit down to enjoy TV or
read, our “fur-kids” are curled up at our feet or in our laps. We have large yards where they
can run to their hearts’ content. As a result they are very well conditioned physically.

Here at Y-Not South, we have had Aussies for the past seven years. Prior to discovering
this amazing breed, we bred and showed Collies in the 1960’s. We were also owned by a
Cairn terrier who was with us for 16 yrs. We are currently training and competing in
Conformation and Obedience. All our Aussies have either gained their titles in
Conformation or are on the way to achieving them. We are interested in the health and
welfare of our breed. We urge those of you that are considering making this wonderful dog
one of your own to check out our links and learn about the genetics, etc. of the breed.
We are active members of the Australian Shepherd Club of America, several local breed
clubs, as well as the Valencia Valley Kennel Club.

Our daughter Gayle at Y-Not North is currently concentrating on training and teaching
dogs. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and will soon be getting her
Certification in this Association. She continues to advance her education in training,
nutrition and canine behavior by attending the many seminars offered in her area. She is
currently teaching and training puppies and dogs for a national pet store chain. She also
teaches Puppy and Basic Obedience classes on a volunteer basis at her local AKC club.
She is also available for private in home lessons. Her Aussies are kept very busy training
and competing in Agility, Obedience, Rally-O and Tracking. She also competes in
Conformation in the ASCA Altered ring. Granddaughter, Meagan also trains her Aussie in
Rally-O and Obedience having titled him in both of these venues. She is learning to be a
dog groomer and works for a national pet store chain.
